Hi Reader,
I've been reflecting on the goodness and faithfulness of God, and my heart is filled with gratitude!
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend the 2026 YouVersion Partner Summit in Oklahoma City, and what an incredible experience it was! As I sat among other ministry leaders and content partners, learning about the work God is doing around the world, I couldn't help but reflect on the journey that brought me there.
Six years ago, I took a leap of faith and applied to become a YouVersion content partner. At the time, I had no idea what God would do with that simple step of obedience. Just one year later, in 2021, my application was approved, opening a door that would allow Journey to Purity® to reach women and men far beyond what I could have imagined.
And here we are, five years later!
52,946+ Bible plan completions.
81 countries and territories reached.
And countless opportunities to share the Gospel, encourage others in their walk with Christ, and help people understand that purity is about so much more than abstaining from sex. It's about surrendering every area of our lives to God.
What makes this especially meaningful is that YouVersion is how I've connected with so many of you reading this newsletter today. Whether you discovered Journey to Purity® through a Bible plan, joined one of our challenges, or became part of our Discipleship Hub, I'm grateful that God allowed our paths to cross.
But there's something else I've been reflecting on.
God never intended for me to carry this assignment alone.
The mission He's entrusted to Journey to Purity® is bigger than any one person, and I'm incredibly grateful for the people He's brought alongside me to help carry it forward.
I want to take a moment to thank Markeisha Williams, our Discipleship Hub Manager, and Mary Williams, our Director of Prayer & Care, for saying "yes" to God's call and serving alongside me.
Both ladies joined me at the summit, and we had an amazing time learning more about what God is doing through YouVersion, Life.Church, and the many ministries connected to this incredible work. I'm grateful not only for their willingness to serve, but also for the heart, love, and commitment they bring to this ministry.
As I reflect on all of this, I'm reminded of something important: gratitude helps us recognize what God has already done, while contentment teaches us to trust Him with what He's still doing.
It's easy to become so focused on the next goal, unanswered prayer, or unfulfilled desire that we overlook the blessings right in front of us.
And while I have great expectations for what God will continue to do through Journey to Purity®, I don't want to become so focused on what's next that I fail to appreciate what He's doing right now.
Perhaps you can relate.
Maybe you're believing God for marriage, healing, financial freedom, a new opportunity, or a breakthrough in an area where you've been struggling. There's nothing wrong with bringing those desires before Him. But we don't have to wait until every prayer is answered to experience the joy of walking with Jesus today.
That's why our theme this month is Gratitude & Contentment.
I want to encourage you to pause and consider how far God has brought you. Think about the prayers He's answered, the lessons He's taught you, the people He's placed in your life, and even the challenges He's used to strengthen your faith.
You may not be where you hoped you'd be, but that doesn't mean God hasn't been faithful.
And you don't have to stop believing Him for more to be grateful for what He's already done.
We can be content in Christ while remaining expectant about what God will do next.
So, this month, let's practice giving thanks in every circumstance, trusting God's provision, and finding joy in His presence.
There's so much to be thankful for. Sometimes we just need to slow down long enough to recognize it.
With grace and gratitude,
Erica
ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE JOURNEY:
THE SECRET TO CONTENTMENT
“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:11-13 (ESV)
The Apostle Paul reminds us that contentment is something we learn. He experienced both abundance and need, yet discovered that his circumstances did not have to determine his peace. His strength came from Christ. Likewise, our contentment isn't rooted in having everything we desire, but in trusting the One who faithfully provides what we need. When our hearts are anchored in Him, we can experience peace even when life looks different from what we expected.
Gratitude helps us recognize God's faithfulness, while contentment teaches us to rest in His sufficiency. Together, they guard our hearts against comparison, complaining, and the constant pursuit of more. As we give thanks, celebrate God's work in our lives, and surrender our expectations to Him, we learn to approach each day with joy, humility, and trust. We can appreciate today's blessings while continuing to pray and prepare for what lies ahead.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in every season of my life. Forgive me for the times I've focused more on what I lack than on what You've already provided. Teach me to be content in You, to recognize Your blessings, and to trust Your timing. Help me cultivate a grateful heart that celebrates Your faithfulness while remaining hopeful for what's ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

YOUR JOURNEY DOESN'T STOP HERE
As we grow in Christ, we begin to recognize that purity isn't only reflected in the things we avoid. It's also revealed in the attitudes we cultivate, the thoughts we entertain, the choices we make, and how we steward what God has entrusted to us.
Even gratitude and contentment are part of our pursuit of holistic purity.
If you've been longing to grow deeper in your relationship with God but aren't sure where to begin, Holistic Purity 101® was created to help you establish a biblical foundation for lasting transformation.
Through the Holistic Purity Method®, you'll learn to discover your identity in Christ, build a strong spiritual foundation, cultivate godly community, renew your outlook, and clarify your God-given purpose.
Because discipleship isn't simply about acquiring more biblical knowledge. It's about allowing God's Word to transform the way we think, live, and respond to everyday life.

HELP SOMEONE ELSE GROW
One of the greatest expressions of gratitude is sharing what God has given us with others. If this month's message encouraged you, consider forwarding The Purity Post™ to another woman who may need a reminder of God's faithfulness. You never know how your willingness to share a word of encouragement might help someone else take her next step toward Christ.

“Contentment isn't the absence of expectation. It's the quiet confidence that God is enough today, even as we trust Him for tomorrow.” |
